Tickle Me Tuesdays

If you'd like to participate (and you know you do!!), here are the rules:
1. Write a short post with anywhere from one to five items that have been tickling your fancy recently. Please include pictures and links :)

2. Make sure to link back to the party in your blog post (you can grab the button or include a text link)

3. Come back here and link up your blog post!

4. Visit some other links and HAVE FUN!

An Up Themed Birthday Party. How stinking cute!

How absolutely adorable!

This just makes me want to buy another pair of Toms. Or like 198274 more pairs.
Those in the local area, it's Barefoot Sunday at Healing Place this week. Bring a pair of shoes to share!

Anyone notice the fact that these are all about children? Even though I have an extremely long time before I can even begin to think about having kids, they will have the first two images. Even if Up isn't cool then (which it still will be.)

Now something I'm really tickled for!
My church does "host groups" which is a small group that lasts for 3 weeks where they give you all the materials you need to run it. It comes with a DVD, curriculum, everything. All I have to do is make a yummy snack, which is not a problem at all. However, I would still appreciate some prayer. I have no idea who will actually show up, if they'll feel God, if my prayer will suck, if I get nervous. So much can go wrong, but it's in God's hands and I'm trusting Him 100%!

Blog Buddies!

I was honored that Paige chose me for the Blog Buddies questionnaire. I had so much fun filling it out and I hope the three that I have chosen will have the most amazing time too!

The rules:
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.

1. I am a Christian who is learning more and more about God each day.
2. I work in fast food. Thankfully it's a little more "upscale fast food" and not as awful.
3. I have at least 3 hangnails at all times.
4. My favorite movie is Mean Girls. Don't hate. I love how quotable it is, and how pretty much everyone understands, "She asked me how to spell 'orange.'"
5. I've recently started having frequent panic attacks. They're really scary, but so far I'm not too shabby at overcoming them, especially at work.
6. I am in love with 11:11. I will tell anyone and everyone when it is and make them make a wish. I don't care if it's not real.
7. I can spend all day watching proposal videos on YouTube, Say Yes to the Dress, and Cake Boss. And I will cry my eyes out at every single story.
8. On that note, I can also spend all day on Pinterest. Pinning, repinning, actually crafting, you name it.
9. I start every morning with a cup of coffee and catching up on the fantastic blogs I follow. (Essentially, I would not know what to do with my life if they took away the internet.)
10. Jim Parsons might very well be my new favorite actor. Rachel McAdams has been my favorite actress since "That is the ugliest effing skirt I've ever seen."
11. I was never allowed to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Cupid, or any other imaginary figures I might have left out. The joys of growing up as a Precher's/Missionary's child.

Questions from Paige:

1. What is your favorite meal?
My grandmother's grilled cheese sandwiches. Sourdough bread from Cracker Barrel and Land of Lakes American cheese. Try it immediately.
2. What movie are you excited to see in theaters soon?
The Vow. I haven't actually seen a trailer for it, but I like going into it not knowing. With those 2, it has to be fantastic
3. What is your favorite episode of Friends?
In all honesty, I have never seen a full episode of Friends. I wasn't allowed to watch it as a child and just never got the interest to later. Maybe I'll try starting it soon.
4. Who do you wish you could meet, dead or alive?
I have never had a good question for this answer. I would like to re-meet my Uncle Paul. He passed away when I was only 5 and I have very few memories of him.
5. How do you feel about the whole chocolate or vanilla thing?
Chocolate all the way. I am a female. ;)
6. What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
Netflix and Pinterest at the same time. Awesomeness overload.
7. Who is your celebrity crush?
Ryan Gosling, no questions asked. That man is gorgeous.
8. What is your favorite type of pizza?
Pizza Hut makes one that is cheese sauce, 4 different types of cheese, and stuffed crust. Wins my heart every time.
9. What is your favorite item of clothing?
My coral jeans
10. What do you want to do when you grow up? Hehe.
Teach! It is the only thing pushing me through school.
11. What U.S. city do you want to visit or live in?
Every single one of them! I guess if I'd have to choose, I'd probably say Seattle or Portland. I've never been to the NorthWest and I would love to expand my horizons.

Questions for You:

1. What is the scariest or craziest thing you've lived through?
2. What is your favorite restaurant and your favorite thing to order there?
3. What is your favorite hobby (outside of crafting)?
4. Any allergies?
5. What did you want to be when you were young? Has it changed since then?
6. If you could choose any country to live in what would it be?
7. What is your favorite book?
8. What's the last impulse buy you made?
9. Who is your role model?
10. Tell me about your pets. Names, kinds, color, everything!
11. What is the one song you can dance to no matter what?

Now the Lucky 3 Girls:

Homemade Pizza Pockets

Last night, my mom decided it was "Pinterest Recipe Night." We all found recipes that looked most delicious (or in my case, the easiest), and got to work.
Here is the inspiration for my project. I modified it for my own likings, of course.

Ingredients:
Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
Pizza Sauce or Alfredo Sauce
Cheese (I used Kraft Five Cheeses)
Pepperonis
Any other toppings you'd like!

What to Do:
1. Preheat the oven to 350.
2. Flour the countertops.
3. Roll out one biscuit round. I used a wheat and the Southern Style.
4. Add the sauce. (Alfredo or pizza, I made two separate kinds and they both rocked!)
5. Add a generous amount of cheese. I used Kraft 5 cheeses and yum!!
6. Add pepperonis and whatever other toppings you'd like.
7. Fold the pockets over and press around the edges with a fork.
8. Place in oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bubbles start to form.
They turned out amazing and I had such a fun time making them. They'd be perfect to let the kids help!

PS Here's the cookies my sister made. I couldn't not post the hilarious picture!
They have s'mores on the inside which is why it's so ginormous! We couldn't take more than 2 bites without getting full. They were so rich!

Decisions Decisions

Lately I've been going through hard decisions, like where I want to finish school and where I'll be living while I'm finishing school and so on. Thankfully, I can say I finally decided on LSU.

I have been second guessing it ever since I moved here, but I think I was just scared. It's going to be a lot harder than what I'm used to, but I think I'm finally ready for the challenge.

In making that decision, a lot of scary new responsibilities come with it. I have to claim myself as a dependent for the first time. I'll be moving out all by myself, therefore I'll need a second job.

But I'm so excited for all of this to start! I feel like a young adult, ready to advance, and become so much more mature. I'm excited for bills. I'm excited to work more than 50 hours a week. I'm excited to live alone. Is that not the weirdest thing you've ever heard?

I'm not going to lie, the main reason I wrote this post was to show off my hopeful future apartment. I haven't even seen them in person but I adore them!

I have a small secret about it though. The number one reason I chose them was for the fireplace. Of course, the double sinks, amazing storage, and huge floorplan helps so so much. I have spent so much time just staring at it and dreaming about how to decorate it. Call me weird, but I've always found moving to be so fun.

The best part? It's not too much out of my budget. If I get a job at the Apple store (that I really really really want), I hopefully can afford it easy-peasy. I'll be visiting them this Saturday to check availability and hopefully get something permanent into action!

Tickle Me Tuesdays

This is by far my favorite linkup!

What are the rules?

So let's get started!

This will make it into my apartment as soon as possible!

Call me crazy, but I have never tried Nutella before. I have a jar though and am so ready to try this!

I am in love with this little cutie! Yes, I have jumped on the owl bandwagon!

I have the feeling that after many many tries, I could make this. As soon as I get an ipad of course.

If you didn't read Calvin and Hobbes as a child, you were seriously deprived!

Best Dinner Ever!

This recipe really doesn't have a name, but in the spirit of sharing, I suppose I can try.

Chicken Stuffed with Cream Cheese and Wrapped in Bacon (the name still sucks)

Ingredients:

4 Chicken Breasts
8 slices of bacon
8oz of Cream Cheese (preferably the new kind with all sorts of spices)

What to do:
  1. Preheat oven to 450
  2. Butterfly each chicken breast. This is the hardest part for me as I hate touching raw meat.
  3. Stuff each piece with generous amounts of cream cheese. The more the better!
  4. Simply wrap each breast with 2 slices of bacon.
  5. Place in the oven for 45 minutes to an hour.

Tickle Me Tuesdays

Here are a few thing tickling my fancy this Tuesday morning.
Carrot cake donuts! I just bought a donut maker (on a really good sale) so I must try these!

This amazingly cute DIY lace light. Love it!

A Toms makeover! I just keep waiting for mine to get holes so I can redo them!

Link up with Yes Teacher to join in on the fun!

Give Up on Giving Up

I've recently noticed that I have a complete lack of drive. I give up entirely too easy on what feels like everything. From relationships to pinterest projects, it seems like nothing can survive.

My newest resolution for 2012: Give up on giving up.

How in the world does one go about doing that? It's a fantastic question I'm still asking myself but I have a few quick hopefully easy goals on how to get there.

1. Schedule. I now have an extremely detailed schedule for every single thing that needs to happen in one day, including work, pinterest projects, exercise, family time, and time with God.
2. Journal, journal, journal. I know I won't be completely perfect on my schedule every single day (like blogging right now). This way I can keep myself in check hopefully and see what days I felt like giving up, and why!
3. Stop being lazy. My biggest problem is laying in bed and spending all day on Netflix. Maybe I'll cancel it but I kinda doubt it.

What about yall? How do you stay motivated?

PS I got my partner for the New Year Blogging Party. Click the link to your right to check it out!

My Week

For awhile I've been telling myself it's time to start building up my blu-ray collection. I probably had about 7 or 8 before...
Is this not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?
The best part is, I got these all in about a month's time probably for $30. Thirty!!

How did I do this? Disney Movie Club. Most wonderful thing ever. I bought 5 of them for 20 cents, and 2 for less than $12. Yes, it requires a small commitment to purchasing over the next two years, but look how many! Some are also from one of my best friends. He sold some to me for like $4 each, and some he just gave me (like Sleeping Beauty and Meet the Robinsons, they sadly didn't make the picture).

If you have a little one, or just love these wonderful classics (like me), definitely, definitely check out the Disney Movie Club!

Anyone wondering about my last post? I bought them!! I'm slightly ashamed, but I went to the mall and it was a $10 off $40. So of course, I had to find something else for just $10 to make it easier. Thankfully my friends called me to meet up as I was checking out so I couldn't go into any other stores.

This post means I cannot spend anymore money for the rest of forever.
Expect a picture soon of me in my new cuties!

Cutest Jeans Ever!

I will not spend $32 on a pair of pants. I will not spend $32 on a pair of pants. I will not spend $32 on a pair of pants. I have repeated this to myself like 18 times this morning.

Do you ever have these moments? Shopping online, and they try to offer you a good deal, like $5 off your $800 purchase. Obviously that's an exaggeration, but their tactics are pulling me in! Remember Tuesday when I said I am dying for a pair of colored skinny jeans? Especially a cute coral pair?

I just can't justify spending $32 on a pair of pants! I know that I should be saving, I'm expecting a big move soon, I want an iPad, and it's just always good to have more money in your savings, right?

We'll have to see bloggers. These little cuties might be making it into my closet sooner than I'd like. Wish me luck!

Target Tuesday

This is my first link up! I absolutely adore all things Target, and made myself look through everything after seeing the post. So here are just a few of the fabulous things I fell in love with.

These shoes are my new life goal. Pathetic to make a goal around a pair of shoes? Possibly. But look how cute!

The decision I made this week? I want, maybe even need, a pair of colored skinny jeans. Are these not the most precious things you've ever seen? Now if they'd only come back in stock!

I am absolutely in love with dolman tops and cropped tee trend lately. And a pocket in it? Genius!

I love dresses. The best part of living Louisiana is that it's been 70-75 all week long, in January. So that means that I can wear this little cutie all year round!

This one's just for fun! For those of you who don't know me in real life, I love Peanuts. I have the entire collection of comics, all the holiday specials, the actual Charlie Brown Christmas tree, cookie cutters, a figurine, you get the picture. This shirt just adds to the magic. :)

The 704

Today is a really sad day for me. It's the day that new semesters start. If you didn't see on my resolutions, I'm taking this entire year off of school. It was supposed to help me get into a better school, but I'm just so sick of it. So in my sadness, I'd figured I'd post a few pictures of my old friends and just say how much I miss yall. Hoping to be back there as soon as possible!

That is one of my very best friends, Loren. She and I were roommates for my sophomore year and we had the most amazing time together. We've been there for each other at 1am crying over boys, making s'mores, playing just dance, venting over the crazy roommates we've had, listening to Ke$ha at full blast, walking the long way to class to see cute boys, working out, hacking each other's facebooks, anything you can imagine. I miss her so much and hope we can live together again soon!

This was another one of my roommates that I actually got along with. Her name is Andra, and she is absolutely awesome. She and I used to always be found in the living room, having stupid conversations on facebook about our fake children, fake boyfriends, and our fake tans. And most of these conversations happened in French, via Google Translate (krkrkr). I miss her like nuts and we barely talk anymore!

These were my best friends the summer after high school. I have no idea why we didn't hang out sooner, but I love them all! This was a particularly awesome night with Apples to Apples. Because you can never go wrong with Apples to Apples.

This is Melissa and Blayke. We were amazingly close in middle school, sleepovers every week and that nonsense. When I went to a different high school it was kinda hard to stay in touch. We still talk occasionally, and try to hang out when we're all in town. I know I had a blast this last time the 3 of us hung out!

This is all for my reminiscing tonight. I am hoping to move back to that area as soon as possible and would love to see each and every one of you again!

Help!

Alright, bloggers, I need your help! My roots are showing pretty bad so I've got to dye it pretty soon, but should I go brunette or my natural dirty blond? I hate keeping up with the brown, especially when I'm trying to save money! Let me know what you think.

Quick Shoutout to Artsy Anthropology

This girl knows what she's doing! She offered all of her new followers in December a free Christmas gift, and who doesn't love free things? Mine just got here in the mail today and I couldn't be more in love!

It came as a set of two and they are just so precious! I'm sure I'll find some way to incorporate them in my outfit this week.

Check out her blog and Etsy to see more!
Thanks again Paige! I really do love them!
