Thankful Thursdays

I found this great new linkup over at Sarah's blog! From what I can tell, you write what you're most thankful for that day, and I'm really excited to see where it takes me. :)

Today I'm posting about a huge passion of mine, that I am so grateful is in existence, the Make a Wish foundation. As an education major, I love working with children. And given that I was diagnosed at a very young age (this is something I'm very private about, only my closest friends and family know), I feel like I understand a little bit of where they're coming from.

One of my favorite parts of Make a Wish's website, is that they allow parents to go on and tell the stories of their child's wish. I've found myself spending hours on the website, just loving every single story. Here are some of my favorite wishes that I've come across lately.

6 year old Dylan who wanted a Star Wars weekend.
6 year old Grace who wanted to be in her own fairytale.
5 year old Robin wished to be "the boss of the ice cream man" so he could give all his friends free ice cream.

4 year old Antonio who wanted a hot tub to help soothe his damaged muscles.
5 year old Cody who wished for "lots of candy." Taking this wish above and beyond,  Make a Wish brought him to Hershey, Pennsylvania.
I know we all have our passions and favorite organizations. What are some of your's?

  3. Hey Kara!

Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog!! I am from Yorkshire in the North of England. I have never been to Southport actually, but I know of it of course. I did live down south for a while in a Seaside town called Bournemouth.

    Take care,

    Sarah

  4. Love the Make a Wish Foundation! When I worked at Camp Friendship (a camp for kids who have cancer...) many of them had gotten their wishes come true from the foundation, and I loved to hear their stories!
