I have been the exact same weight for as long as I can remember. I'll fluctuate within one or two pounds, but 97% of the time it shows up the same. I have very fast metabolism and eat whatever I want whenever I want. Everyone in my family was the same way, but they kept warning me about when I reach my 20's, it's going to change. Well Grandma, I stepped on the scale tonight for the first time since Christmas, and I've gained 6 pounds to the number I'm used to! This is no mere pound or two. This is kind of a big deal. People say that haven't noticed, but the scale doesn't lie.
It's time for a crazy change. Fast food only once a month, small (but effective) workouts every day, don't eat chocolate every other day, yogurt your heart out, fruit, eat lean pockets instead of hot pockets, small simple changes that will work.
I've given myself a million excuses lately to not do this, from a new jar of nutella, to being hungry at work and being "forced" to eat fast food. No more. Starting Monday (after the SuperBowl of course), it's going to be fruits, veggies, non-fried meats, wheat breads, and yogurt. Think I can do it? Neither do I. But I'm going to give it my all!
What about you bloggers? How do you get the motivation to stay fit? I'm so new to this!
you are so blessed to have such body and metabolism sweetie... its really a gift being like that and be proud of it but of course you still have to eat healthy foods to maintain such body and weight... love your blog!!! following you now.. hope you could visit my blog too.. kissess!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, my metabolism stopped being awesome when I was in tenth grade haha. Since then I've learned slowly but surely how to work with it. And I think the more you work at it the better you get. I work out every day mon-fri, but only for about 20-30 minutes unless I feel like working out longer. And I eat pretty healthy, but I would say my healthy to unhealthy ratio is about 80:20. I still have a lot of things I need to work on, and everyone is different, but one thing is important for everyone: never give up!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lofty goal! I admire you for tackling it. It might be overwhelming to do all of that at once - have you thought about slowly switching out junky food for healthy food? Like maybe starting with whole grains and then going from there? I don't know how this challenge works, but I would encourage you to start with small goals.... at least that's what worked for me!! :)
ReplyDeletei think a great accountability tool is writing down everything and i mean everything you ate. so at the end of the day you can see what you truly put in your mouth. and definitely eat you veggies and fruit! they will fill you up faster than you think
ReplyDeleteI think this is GREAT that you are doing this!!
ReplyDeleteWell I do a few intense workouts each week so I can eat the junk I love... with moderation :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck girl
ohh, I am excited to see how it goes. I would love to do this too! I just signed up for organic produce boxes to be delivered and our first one arrived yesterday. I just had a plate of broccoli for lunch and it was YUM-O! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Thats hard to think you are ok with whatever you eat and then all of a sudden have to start changing. I know I have felt a ton better since doing it...I have sooo much energy and I need that with a newborn haha good luck girl!
ReplyDeletefast food only once a month is an awesome goal. i'd be doing good to have it only once a week! good luck, i think your goals sound awesome!
ReplyDeleteahh I so wish I could do this....but now being a mama its so hard not to have my coffee in the mornings, although now I do have sugar free creamer and use truvia. Good luck and keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteUh, we are in the same boat! I was basically the same weight from middle school to when I got married . . . but over the course of the last year, I've gained a few extra pounds! Ugh. I'm definitely joining you in your efforts for a healthier lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI need to do this! I've got some weight that I want to say goodbye too as well! :-)

I know what you mean, it can be so hard turning down treats (especially at work). I find it quite easy eating healthy because I enjoy healthy foods; I just find it hard motivating myself to exercise!
ReplyDeleteYou got this, girl!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, once you feel the effects of eating healthier, it'll be easy to want to stick with it :)
More energy is always a good motivator!
Good luck!
xo
Just saw your comment to me on Ruthanne's blog! :) Thank you so much! And what you just described is how I've always been with my weight. I still am that way, but I turn 20 this year. We shall see what happens! Maybe I should make the change NOW. :) xoxo!
